I do like this hood set up, and would be interested in a hood like this depending on the cost. However, it is more important to me that I keep a large pot cupboard on one side of the hood than the symmetry of the hood wall...so for that reason we may want to make the hood wall less of a focal point

While the wood color for this cherry kitchen is nice, it is much more formal than we are looking for...we want a more relaxed traditional. I also picked this picture because I do not like this hood style even in wood
