They're not all close, but the ones who aren't don't need to know what's on my calendar. I probably wouldn't think to share it with the far away ones, even if I did use an electronic one exclusively. Sounds like you and your husband's differences are much the same as mine. We're just over 4 years apart but, because of his late summer and my mid fall birthdays, he graduated HS 5 years before I did. I'm the 8th of 9 while he's the 2nd of 6 so mine are the older parents. He actually understands how to do more on the computer than I do, probably because he had to learn that for work. But when it comes to his smart phone, I think he's gotten too old and crotchety to try to figure it out. I just got my first smart phone a couple of months ago and he was quite impressed when I created a hotspot so I could get online with my laptop when our wifi was acting up about a week later. In the meantime, it took 5 or 6 tries last night for him to pull up the latest picture he'd taken of our newest grandchild. I don't know if he could handle my trying to share a calendar with him.

Too funny! I get more frustrated with technology as I get older.....I CAN figure it out, but I just don't have time sometimes. And with older children, it is much easier to just delegate to them! Our satellite box hard drive crashed so they sent a new box. I didn't want to install it so I was going to have them send someone, but my son got it up and running....now we are working on our garage door openers since we just replaced them. My vehicle is 2012 so it needs updated software.....a project for another day. But with these single digit temps, I really need to park in the garage! Best to you!
