Thank you for sharing your story. It's moving, thought provoking and beautifully written. At the end, my thoughts turned to Puerto Rico where people are still trying to survive and recover devastation from the September hurricane.

Thank you for your story. I was born under a lucky star. I had a house on the market for several months in Napa. The house sold in September and I had until September 30th to move out but I still had to clear out the house and finished clearing things out by October 4th. On October 7th I began getting notices on my cell phone to evacuate, because my cell phone number was on the Napa registry, but I had by this time settled into my new home near Sacramento. I did receive pictures later showing the fire damage around my old home and the fantastic local fire fighters managed to back fire around the property so that the home and detached garage was undamaged and only the front fence was burned to the ground. Thanks to all the wonderful fire fighters who put everything on the line during this including hauling water from Lake Curry via helicopter and dumping it on our houses and cars!

Thank you Adam for your thoughts and photos. Your photos were the first I’ve seen that were ‘real’.
@debbyrne644 during and in the aftermath of the Napa, Sonoma and Petaluma, etc, fires, I received far too many requests for donations. Many didn’t even have a 501-c3. Maggie Hawk directed me to the Sonoma County Fire Relief. The best part about them is they take care of ALL the people: Fire, Rescue, Residents, Kids, Elderly; kind of like an Umbrella. And they’re been around a while; a good FT Administrator.
