Xtraordinary by Design

Great list. Without trying, I realize that I've incorporated #2, 4, & 10 into 1 space that can handle it all... my office.

For #2, I ditched my office chair for a yoga ball. More/better self care is at the top of my 2018 goals so even though I've always kept the ball, mat & dumbbells in my office, I didn't use them nearly as much as I wanted. This way I'll at least use the ball every single day.

For #4, the "guest chairs" in my office are perfect for sitting with a cup of coffee to read next to the window. Right now I'm enjoying re-reading "The Purpose Driven Life" every morning before I start my day.

For #10, I blog already but again sitting at the desk or in 1 of the "guest chairs" to journal or jot down notes or anything else is working out pretty good so far. Using a calligraphy pen makes it a little more special too.

Outdoor Art Pros

We especially love the resolution to go outside more. Our time is spent more and more indoors and we are missing out on the many benefits of being outdoors. It's important to make sure your outdoor living space is enjoyable though. Incorporating a water fountain, a planter with your favorite flowers, or a statue that makes you smile are all great ways to accomplish this. Here are some top-sellers of each of these:

Beauvais Water Fountain:

Faccia Cast Stone Planters:

Buddha Head Garden Statue:

Thanks so much for including our cozy book nook in this article! We had a lot of fun with this design. Here's more of this modern riff on a Colonial design: http://www.barnesvanze.com/project/new-american-colonial/
