Hand-carved furniture, stunning lights and cool tile are among the exciting new products featured at the design show
After their annual design event in May was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and WantedDesign Manhattan teamed up to host a virtual design showcase broadcast live from New York on Oct. 28 and 29. More than 25 design brands and studios showcased a variety of cutting-edge furniture, lighting and other products for the home. Here are 10 standout products from the show that caught our eye. 1. Nifty Knitting
You may have knitted a scarf or a blanket, but have you ever knitted a light shade? Well, the team at Danish design studio Made by Hand has, and the result is the Knit-Wit collection of ethereal pendant lights.
The knitted shades distribute light through the yarn’s material, giving each pendant a distinctive glow. The shades are knitted in three dimensions to provide visual texture and are made in a process that produces no waste material.

The Jack table by Autonomous Furniture is a clean-lined modern dining table made of sustainably sourced ash. Designer Kirk Van Ludwig added transposed legs with offsetting widths to create visual interest and a sense of stability.
The Jack is finished in food-safe, all-natural hardwax oil and comes in flat packs for easy assembly. The standard size for the table is 84 by 36 by 29 inches.

The Treble lighting collection by David Weeks Studio is designed to be reminiscent of cursive handwriting. The collection consists of a chandelier, floor lamp and wall sconces that feature curved brass arms that provide a signature look. Each shade is illuminated by an LED light source with a molded glass diffuser and a polished brass disc.

4. Wool Wonder
Founded as a wool blanket company, JG Switzer is debuting a wider array of natural-fiber textiles, bedding and home goods, including the Sheep lounge chair in collaboration with Studio Ahead.
Each lounge chair is covered in a hand-stitched wool fleece fabric that is biodegradable, sustainable and one of a kind.

5. 21st-Century Candlelight
A reimagining of the classic candlestick led lighting studio Graypants to design Wick — a chic portable light fixture that blends the warmth of candlelight in an energy-efficient and safe modern form.
The cordless and portable fixture features a rechargeable LED light that lasts up to 100 hours per charge. The fixture has three lighting levels, providing a maximum brightness stronger than that of a traditional candle. There’s also a pulse mode that imitates a candle’s soft flicker.

If you’re looking for a dramatic light fixture that has the scale and heft of of a traditional chandelier but the sculptural lines of a modern fixture, the Guston by James Dieter might be one to consider. The light fixture is constructed of curved flat bands interlocking at right angles.
The fixture is available in a black anodized metal finish with white glass diffuser discs (as seen above) or in a brass or sterling-silver-plated finish with optional colored glass diffuser discs.

To honor its 160th anniversary, French furniture maker Ligne Roset has brought back the Asmara floor seating collection originally designed by Bernard Govin in 1967. The low-slung modular seating can be grouped together to create an undulating sectional that promotes lounging and conversation.

9. Tantalizing Tile
The Reef is a hexagonal tile by Nemo Tile + Stone that can be laid in a variety of patterns to create optical illusions and accents. These angular geometric tiles mimic the look of encaustic cement tiles but are made of user-friendly porcelain. The tiles are available in a variety of patterns and solid colors that can be arranged however you see fit.

10. Flower Power Fabric
Furniture and lighting studio Moooi has launched a new line of fabrics called Tokyo Blue that can be used as a wallcovering or upholstery. The colorful Rendezvous pattern (above) is printed on a velvet fabric with a denim texture. The fabric depicts a lush forest, and if you look closely you’ll see macaques dressed in traditional kimonos amid an abundance of exotic flowers.
