This spring’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) and High Point Market trade events showcased a wave of fresh thinking in outdoor design, with innovative materials, refined craftsmanship and modern forms bringing new options for patios, decks, balconies and beyond. Sustainability, advanced manufacturing and indoor-inspired comfort emerged as defining themes across many of the 2026 launches. These 12 pieces exemplify those trends.
2. Outdoor Pingpong Table
As game tables continue to gain popularity indoors, it was only a matter of time before high-design versions made their way outdoors. At High Point Market this year, Four Hands introduced three outdoor gaming options, with this teak-clad, aluminum-topped pingpong table emerging as a crowd favorite. Remove the wood net and the table transitions effortlessly from tournament mode to dinner service.

Rooted in California modernism, Nicki Huggins’ R6 chair takes its cues from an iconic outdoor design dating to circa 1935. The electropolished stainless steel frame, designed to resist corrosion and weathering, is shaped from six joined curves. The chair is shown here in a terra-cotta bouclé fabric paired with the Radius coffee table topped in terrazzo. It’s available in a range of finishes and upholstery options.

Janus et Cie’s Viretta collection combines open aluminum frames with woven seat backs in a diamond pattern meant to recall tufted Chesterfield sofas and French garden trellises. Slatted travertine tabletops and tailored cushions with welting complete the 12-piece collection, which, in addition to a dining table and chairs, includes a sofa, lounge chair, chaise and side table.

Prism Hardscapes, best known for its fire pits and standard outdoor furnishings, debuted the only heated furniture collection at ICFF. The brand’s curvy Lyon chair plugs in and warms to temperatures ranging from 85 to 120 degrees. The chair is part of the Oni collection, designed in collaboration with Mexican designer Jorge Diego Etienne.
