2024Q3 U.S. Houzz Renovation Barometer Subcontractor Backlog
Findings from the Q3 2024 Houzz Renovation Barometer, which tracks residential renovation market expectations, project backlogs and recent activity among businesses in the construction sector.
“Labor shortages are a leading challenge among residential builders, remodelers and designers,” said Marine Sargsyan, Houzz staff economist. “Houzz research shows a range of 3 to 6 weeks before subcontractors can begin work on a new project, with the most significant backlogs among masonry and cabinetry services. These wait times highlight the need for careful planning and coordination to ensure timely project completion.”
The Q3 2024 U.S. Houzz Renovation Barometer was fielded from June 29 through July 9, 2024 and garnered responses from 153 build-only remodelers and 362 design-build remodelers (n=515 in the construction sector).
