Fantastic ideas! We love the rustic element of number 12 and as well as the reclaimed wood in number 23. Number 5 is also a great space-saving solution.
Never had a kitchen big enough for an island, but like the idea of a mobile one.
I have a smallish trolley with steel top, three shelves and a drawer, like a mini island, this gets pushed all over the kitchen to use where required.
By the way, I also hate bar stools, but have one of just the correct height to use as a "perching stool" when I am doing a lot of food prep.
I like the different islands rather than run of the mill clinical ones. I'd love an island but prefer table and bench when space
