I see many people jumping on the “ gray wagon”, even though there’s nothing in their house that’s gray. In fact, many of my customers have very colorful fabrics, artwork, etc. Working mostly in 55+ communities, many items they have are from a collection of memories in their lives for the past 30-50 years. It is VERY difficult to incorporate GRAY into many of their schemes . I always try to atleast go with a taupe, blue gray or green gray- most grays are just SOMBER and DEPRESSING!! The “ Gray trend “ is going to pass and then they’re stuck, redoing their paint to colors that are actually their TRUE taste!! I feel, if you want to follow a trend, do it in a powder room, a guest room, etc- NOT your entire house. Then there’s not so much to be done, when you tire of the “ trend”!!!!

I think this article is great. There is something for everyone. The challenge is trying to keep your home updated without having to “gut” it and spend big bucks doing it. Recently I did an update on the cheap, by just painting and changing the pendants. It was time for new appliances after 18 years too.
