3D Spaces Designed for Your Zodiac Sign
Houzz and Kirby Home Designs have partnered to create virtual spaces inspired by the four astrological elements
Each zodiac sign aligns with an astrological element — fire, earth, water or air — that has a unique energy and style. To have a little fun (and show off the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner, a tool available to Houzz Pro subscribers), Houzz enlisted designer Kirby Foster Hurd to help create a virtual kitchen, living room, bathroom and backyard inspired by those elemental forces.

2. Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
With its sophisticated and soothing blend of organic shapes, textures and materials, this neutral-toned living room embodies the earth element as well as the practical, grounded and patient astrological signs under its influence.
Steady Taurus treasures comfort, so you might find them spread out on the chaise in front of a roaring fire. The room’s efficient layout and floor-to-ceiling windows reinforce the order and clarity that Virgo craves. For Capricorn, who loves quiet luxury, the room boasts elegant furnishings, more of which you’ll see when clicking around the plan’s Dollhouse and Walkthrough views.
“We wanted to design a space that reflects the dependability and warmth of earth signs,” Foster Hurd says. “It’s a room where you can unwind, recharge and find comfort in timeless, natural materials.”
Foster Hurd created these and the other astrology-inspired spaces from scratch. But if you’re renovating an existing space, your designer or contractor can use the Houzz Pro app on their phone or tablet to scan the room (or rooms) and create a virtual model as a starting point for the new design. Pros then can adjust floor plans, create variations, share ideas and select products within the software. The latest AI-powered updates even allow pros to turn product photos into 3D models and use them in 3D floor plans.

3. Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)
If anyone is drawn to a luxurious and private spa-style bathroom like this one, it’s an intuitive, emotional and endlessly creative water sign — and not just because the pale aquamarine tile and paint echo the shallows of a tropical sea.
“Water signs need a sanctuary where they can retreat and reflect,” Foster Hurd says. “This design embraces fluidity and serenity, mirroring the depth of their emotions.”
The partially enclosed wet room has a rainfall shower that offers a refreshing reset for emotional Cancer. Dreamy Pisces likely prefers to let their imagination wander during a long soak in the freestanding tub. Soulful Scorpio, on the other hand, is apt to lower the shades and set the mood for inner reflection. (Speaking of reflection, don’t miss the fun wavy mirrors, which are mounted on a leafy blue wallpaper above the vanity.)
When exploring the rooms in 3D, you’ll find an adjoining water closet — and also get a sense of how the Room Planner tool helps design and remodeling professionals and their clients visualize the layout and flow between rooms and even to outdoor spaces.

4. Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
Air signs, generally speaking, are social, bright and always on the move, but they need to recharge too. So this open and free-flowing backyard, which has entertaining zones and private nooks, is right up their alley.
“Air signs thrive in spaces that allow for both connection and solitude,” Foster Hurd says. “We designed this backyard to feel as boundless as the sky, reflecting their airy, adaptable nature.”
Expressive Gemini can gather with guests around a bowl-style fire pit for late-night conversations. Libra, who loves beauty and balance, will appreciate the symmetry and harmonious proportions of the overall design. The outdoor kitchen presents innovative Aquarius with an opportunity to experiment with flavors.
“The Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plan tool is a go-to for communicating with my clients and makes it easy to bring the essence of each astrological sign to life,” Foster Hurd says. “Whether we were designing a kitchen with blazing red hues and luxurious finishes for our fiery friends or a spa-like bathroom with calming blue tile and soft ambient lighting fit for a water sign’s peaceful retreat, we could visually capture the mood and energy of each element, ensuring every space felt uniquely attuned to its sign.”

Fire signs are known for their passion, energy and boldness. Accordingly, the kitchen they inspired isn’t for shrinking violets or wallflowers. (The adjoining dining area’s tropical leaf-print wallpaper, however, fits right in.)
“A kitchen designed for fire signs should be as dynamic and fearless as they are,” says Kirby Foster Hurd, founder and principal designer of Kirby Home Designs. “We incorporated striking colors and patterns with bold finishes to create a space that fuels their creative spark.”
Oversize statement lighting is a good fit for confident Aries, and the open-concept layout and large island are perfect for Leo’s love of entertaining. Exotic animal and jungle prints nod to Sagittarius’ globe-trotting adventures. At the same time, the color palette of deep red, shimmering gold and black evokes the fire element itself, from sparks to coal.

Then you can use the Pan, Rotate and Zoom tools in the Dollhouse and life-size Walkthrough views to get an overview of the space — including its wall of cabinetry and refrigerator, which aren’t visible here — as well as an up-close look at its textures, colors and materials. This photorealistic image, like the other three in this story, was created by taking a “snapshot” while in Walkthrough mode.
