I thought this article almost remedial in its suggestions--commenters provided much more. One thing this article didn't touch on--and I see it in SO many photos are the French & Single door refrigerators that only open 45 degrees or less. How on earth do you clean these when the doors can't open wide enough to get the bins out? As much as function and looks are considered ease of cleaning and simple access are equally important. As to the pullout cabinets on the bottom, a big waste of space. Access is limited to items in the outer perimeter. The biggest mistake I made! After 13 years of fighting them, I hope to get them retro-fitted w individual draw pullouts.

Refrigerator doors that only open 45 degrees - never seen such a thing. I have a combo of oversized drawers and pull outs for appliances and some other bigger things. "Access is limited to the perimeter" - I don't get that - full extension slides and low sides makes for easy access to the whole thing for me.
