I hope I can explain my new design idea:- So the space between the top and the bottom cupboards is not a wall, but a sliding panel, where behind it is the second layer of kitchen counter, not quite as wide as the usual 600mm, this one is 300mm, and guess what is there, with a bank of plugs? All the appliances ready plugged in to be used. Around the corner, the pantry, which is where these appliances live, yes, on that counter, perfectly aligned and facing the 'wall' which is the sliding panel in the kitchen. So it is easy to clean from the pantry side, but well hidden from the kitchen, but wonderfully accessible. The heavier items, such as the Kenwood and the meat slicer, are on a double skin of counter, which is mounted on rails/ little mini wheels, perpendicular to the counter so that it can be pulled closer to the cook as needed. The platforms on the counter have been engineered in stainless steel by a clever chap, who is an engineer and not a kitchen designer at all.

Love the deVol kitchen with the Aga! I do like white kitchens but I just think if they're all white or very pale then they need some interesting features like that to keep them from being too stark.
