Discover which shades were catching eyes and providing inspiration at the recent design fair in Paris
Exhibitors returned for another imaginative and promising edition of the Maison & Objet design fair at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition center this month (Jan. 16-21). Echoing the event’s central theme, Sur/Reality, the colors chosen by the various brands present were full of verve and joy, promising a season of delight. We took a closer look at the major color combinations on display to give you some inspiration for the year ahead.

There was a whimsical mood at the show, with small furniture and decorative accessories in zesty hues — a nod to colorful confectionery.
These sweet, summery shades included lime green, lemon yellow, strawberry pink, candy floss blue and more mouthwatering hues. Shapes were also part of the fun, as demonstrated by this set of glasses by &Klevering.

Although iridescent shades made a timid appearance at last year’s fair, they were firmly back in force at this edition. Metallic and shimmery tints were everywhere, almost as a way to visually introduce our interiors to new technology, which these colors effortlessly conjure up with reflections that change in the light.

Hypnotizing designs were central to this year’s trends, including distorted stripes that play with perspective.
