I completely agree with you on the point that not everything has to be new when clients are looking to increase the resale values of their homes. One major mistake I have noticed as a designer is clients demanding that we adopt the latest remodeling trends at the expense of preserving the uniqueness, and heritage that a home has before it is remodeled. This could end up negatively effecting the resale value of the home, as many buyers nowadays are looking for something authentic and unique.

A client once asked me why I was so traditional in my decor. I told her that your home should reflect its style and your choices should stand the test of time. One accent wall, or a few trendy items make a great statement, but that hot pink sofa you may want will be out of style next year!
