I also love the double curtain look, especially when the shower stall has a light inside. The shower area appears almost like a private stage. It looks inviting anyway. I don't know why it took so long for me to learn I could have pretty curtains if I also had a plastic liner. Maybe because I grew up with those sliding plastic shower doors of yesteryear. Those were awful with the algae growing in the tracks and no easy way to clean. If today's glass needs daily cleaning, then forget it. Even more important to my husband a me is that we both imagine slipping and falling into the glass. Even if it never happens, it makes us both on edge whenever we think about it, and that's not a feeling I want either starting or ending my day. What I really enjoy is a shower big enough to not need either, but the draft makes me appreciate a heating lamp in the shower. I also like one outside the shower. The one time I got to customer design my bath, it had touches like that which mean more to me than any color plan.

What about frosted shower doors? Anyone have those and love them? I prefer the doors to the feel/look of curtain but I like the idea of privacy with frosted doors. With 3 young kids and one bathroom, I can’t leave the bathroom door locked...

Sandblasting, whether a full top to bottom, and band in the middle or a fade to clear, can provide needed privacy while still allowing light to filter in and out of the shower. It is a great solution for a family with one bathroom.
