Our east facing window at high altitude heats the space like an oven, not to mention the light. I added window film to reduce light and purchased an inexpensive black roller blind until I get my room designed. Unfortunately so much heat built up between window and shade that it cracked the glass. Now I have to get windows too:-(. I'm wondering if all treatments would have this effect or if just the black color was really the problem. Does anyone have the answer? My windows are thermal double glass.

I've always had white blackout blinds and never any heat issues
