I think that some of these images are overkill on toys, and would overload most kids. (Just my opinion).

What I like to do, and have always done, is to rotate out the toys. I find that kids will generally just play with a few particular toys and ignore the rest, or just make a mess trying to decide. So, I let them keep those most favorite items plus a few select additions. The rest go in a box in the attic. Then, once or twice a year I will rotate out the items that are being ignored with something that is stored away. They are then excited (for a time anyway) at this new discovery. It's like having new toys without the cost. When they age out of the toys, I donate them. This allows me to keep the clutter down, but still keep them entertained.

Please, feel free to visit my site for more DIY storage solutions!

yes, I used these tips for kids and husband's garage. always did it when they were not there and it worked out beautifully. My biggest accomplished was my husband's garage. As an educator during summer, I took on the huge task of cleaning and organizing my husband's garage. I started by buying a bunch of organization items to put everything in. I would bring in buckets of odds and ends and go through it one by one. then surprised him at the end of the week with an organized and labelled garage.
