I know a couple with 3 young kids who live in a house 145 sq feet in the country. They have tons of outdoor space and living areas and it is entirely doable. The layout is important, but with CA weather, one can be outdoors plenty and have all they need. It teaches you to simplify and keep only what you really need and love. Its a beautiful space with plenty of light, a bathtub, apt sized fridge, oven, 3 burner stovetop and sleeping lofts and more.

Zoom-Room Murphy Beds

This piece was amazing. Floor plans, pictures, and expert opinions.. Thank you for including everything. There is no doubt in my mind that one can live in 220 square feet as people around the globe live in less, with less. The transformation and breakdown of the space are next level and I love how everything in the space is aesthetically pleasing and fresh. Anyone can definitely function within this space. Now being productive and happy are the real dilemmas. Our company sells bed that can be fitted into a stand up desk with side closets and nightstands. It can turn your 220 square foot place from living room to bedroom at the click of a button. Visit us at zoom-room.com to see our beds that fold out from under an entertainment center !

Urban Futons - Dr. Futonberg

I have a lot of personal experience with small dwellings considering I live in a 440 sq ft studio apartment in Manhattan. One important thing I like to stress is not to have your bed in open view. A bed should be concealed or partitioned off in the room. Use room divider screens. There are hundreds of styles and sizes to choose from. UrbanAccentsNY.com

As for tiny home sleeping lofts, it is important that you get the best quality futon mattress.
