Could You Be the Next My Houzz Photographer?
Do you love to photograph interesting homes and write about interior design? We want to talk with you
When it comes to other people’s homes, we can all be a little voyeuristic. Yes, we’re fascinated by how people live behind closed doors, but we’re also really hungry for ideas on how we can make our own homes more comfortable, functional and good looking.
That’s why we here at Houzz are always on the lookout for more cool homes to peek into and share with the world. And you can help us. If you’ve got an eye for home design, great photography skills and the right equipment, then listen up:
We’re looking for photographers for our My Houzz series who can find amazing homes and gardens, take photographs and write about all the neat stuff the homeowners did to make it such a unique place. You’ll get to meet new people, see interesting spaces, probably pet lots of dogs and cats and make some money along the way.

Do you really think photographer Julie Ranee didn’t get offered a glass of lemonade to be enjoyed on this Columbus, Ohio, porch? Highly doubtful.

If you’re still not sure why someone would want to become a My Houzz photographer, then let a few of our veteran contributors help explain.
“I love meeting design-minded people and getting a glimpse inside their thought processes,” says photographer Sarah Greenman of Dallas. “It’s also a huge honor to walk into someone’s home, meet their family and have in-depth discussions about how their homes mirror their personal aesthetics. Home truly is where the heart is, and working as a Houzz contributor gives me a glimpse into their hearts.”
“It’s amazing to see how creative people are, and how even if you’re not an interior designer, you can still create a gorgeous space that inspires others,” says photographer Nanette Wong of San Francisco.
“My favorite thing about being a My Houzz contributor has been meeting so many great people in my community and being able to see their beautiful homes and listen to and write about their unique stories,” says photographer Mina Brinkey of Tampa, Florida.
