Yes, it is true, we ha the same problem with our draperies, because of the interlining, which adds a lot more weight to them. You will have to use more brackets on the wall for more support.

I was looking for a curtain pole (preferably wooden) for some heavy velvet style curtains. I noticed there is a HUGE price range in what is fundamentally a pole that is going to spend much of it's time 95% covered by a curtain.. maybe I'm being a bit of a skinflint. Is there really much difference between a £20 wooden pole from PolesandBlinds.com and a £110+ pole from somewhere like Broughton Interiors? I'm thinking of settling for something in the middle. The most important thing to me is how cleanly the curtain glides open/closed.. and staying on the wall !!
