I agree with not storing bulk or inexpensive items. If an item costs only a few dollars and I know I won't need it again for a long period of time (like seasonal decorations) I choose not to keep them but instead repurchase them if I want/need them again. Similarly, its worth paying a bit more for a smaller size of something rather than having something like a huge bottle of dish soap cluttering up my sink cabinet for 6 months until I use it all. It's worth a few dollars today to have the store "keep" these for me!

I had a garage full of odds and ends- donated it all when I moved. my male friends thought I was crazy- you might need that, but I never did

sick of hearing, reading about 'sparking joy" and marie kondo methods of decluttering. If you don't use it get rid of it responsibly. Resell, reuse for another purpose, donate and if it is truly garbage, then toss.
