Advantage Architectural Woodwork
Thank you so much for this informative article! Anyone considering large operable openings should read this article as there are many things to consider in selecting the appropriate type and material for these units. We are a US manufacturer of energy efficient European Engineered wood and wood clad lift & slide units, entrance doors, tilt & turn windows, and fold and slide doors. All of our units range in thickness from 3-1/16" to 3-5/8" and in some custom cases we can do thicker units. We also offer a line of "passive" low thermal transmittance with the addition of cork layers within our wood laminations that adds a significant thermal break as cork is one of the best natural insulators. Also should mention our standard glass is low e triples...no doubles here!
