Wall mounted faucets work well in minimalist kitchens where the less ornament to distract from the simplified materials and shapes, the better. Shallow counter depths that don't leave clearance for the holes of a centermount faucet dictate the use of a wall mounted fixture. When those situations arise, make it look intentional and modern.
Wall mounted faucets also work well in more traditional kitchens. It can be the perfect solution for an antique sink you do not want to mar with new hole drillings for a centerset faucet.
Potfiller faucets, common in restaurants, are becoming more common fixtures near stoves in gourmet kitchens. The articulated arms reduce back strain by being able to fill big pots with water.
An out-of-the-box design idea: Consider using a potfiller fixture as your main faucet for a large bathroom or kitchen sink.

Shallower counter depths where there is simply not enough clearance behind the sink for the centerset faucet holes require a wall mounted faucet. It can be installed at any height you like.

Vessel sinks (versus drop-in or undermount sinks) offer another good application for wall-mounted faucets.
I just had to share this example. I stopped in my tracks when I saw the combination of cool shimmery metallic wall finishes combined with the organic pebble-like shape of the vessel sink, all on top of a wood floating vanity. Trés chic and modern. Nothing other than a wall-mounted faucet would do for this original modern combination.
I like the dramatic effect of installing the faucet in the mirror, creating an arc in the reflection when the water is running.
When installing the wall-mounted faucet, make sure the spout will reach the center of the sink basin. Clearly, there will be no misses or spillage in this carefully planned installation.
Bringing the faucet off the counter top surface and onto the wall allows you to create a clean and clutter-free space. This faucet selection helped to create spa-like serenity of this bright and crisp bathroom.
Clutter is even more of a challenge in dual-sink vanities. Once again, the wall-mount faucet saves the day by clearing up countertop real estate.
No counter? No problem. You can make the tiny powder room feel bigger with a pedestal vessel sink and a wall mounted faucet in a mirror wall. Talk about dramatic effect. Mix in bright red walls and polished brass finishes and we have moved into show-stopper territory. And I love that nautical flavored porthole window opening.
