eclecticedwardian--------I haven't heard anything about this. i'll read the articule when I can later tonight. I'm not sure if we have milkweed but it looks as if we do. we live out in the country and we keep most of our land wild. if it can grow here in Arkansas then we probably have some of it. we just came back inside from watering our newest trees and I told my husband to look out for any monarch butterflies. we were only outside for 5 or so minutes before he saw one. saw probably half a dozen different types of butterflies while we were outside for less than 30 minutes.

we have a lot of wild life out here. it's crazy sometimes. I have deer that regularly come wihin 10 feet of my home. seen a huge rat run up to my air unit for shelter when it started to rain. have bunnies that sit on my back porch from time to time. even had on come up to my backdoor and look right in at us at diner. once a hummingbird came right up to my daughters face, six inches from her nose and just looked at her before flying away. then we also have the huge bugs that are almost the size of a small bird that like to fly right by your face or knock you in the head for no reason other than just being outside. oh and the wasps and hornets. ugh do not like that. there is good and bad about living here.

whatever I have in my fowerbed right now attracts the most beautiful butterflies. they're a dark teal type. they look black and bigger than normal. then the inner wings are dark teal and iridescent like.
