Here's the Foxtail fern with Aeonium 'Zwatkop' photo update to the just-planted photo I posted 2 years ago in this same ideabook.

I bought some foxtail ferns for containers last year - they did great and I LOVED THEM. They doubled in size and were trucking right along, and then suddenly in the fall, they turned yellow and died within 1-2 days.

The containers were definitely large enough - I specifically got large ones so that the ferns could get big over a couple summers before I divided into more containers or transplanted them into the ground. I also made sure they got the right amount of water in between dry spells with no rain.

I live in SC, so we don't really get super-cold like up north, but these died before our cold reason really even started.

I left them in the containers, hoping they would come back (like my asparagus fern did after it turned yellow last fall), but they never did. I have no idea what happened.
