How does the clean laundry get back up the stairs? In the very capable hands of those children who wear said laundry! No dumbwaiter needed! :)

LOL! Love laundry chutes! Had one in a wonderful house on the east coast when I was a kid. My brother and I would fasten a rope to the top of the chute and "spelunk" from the third floor to the basement! Remember the lining of the chute was beautiful smooth bead board wood.

Yeah.........we had a wonderful chute that was 2 stories up. the thing was at least 28 inches square and the boys used to climb up the chute using their backs and their feet. Needless to say, I put 3 pillows at the bottom permanently, in case they fell, as they refused to listen to any admonishments. Keep those things locked for sure.
