We are in the process of 'renoing' our kitchen. I like the look of matching appliances but how important is it? One brand has a better fridge, the other has a better range? I dont want it to look unprofessional or like we took a shortcut. should I go with matching or one of each? also the fridge and stove are only 12" apart so it might be super noticable?? suggestions/ comments

@ajegger I have a 36" stove that the oven part is red and the range top is stainless steel. The rest of my appliances are black and so are my silgranite sinks. The stove is by Capital, the sinks by Kraus, the dishwasher is KitchenAid, and the refrigerator is Kenmore. It looks well put-together and I've been told my kitchen is "to die for". You can always get cabinet fronts for the refrigerator and nobody would know it didn't brand match, if you're concerned. Get the appliance you like and don't worry about brand matching. You're the ones who will be using the appliances (and usually only the stove remains in a resale).

Hello I am hoping to purchase a small home 1025 square feet. There is laminate wood tile throughout the house except for bathrooms and kitchen that has 12x12 tile (bleh). I am wondering what is the cheapest way to go to resolve this. The laminate is not in bad shape so I was wondering would it be best to take up the tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen and try to match it with the laminate for now? Ideas are appreciated so much!
