Highlights From This Spring’s Design Happenings
Get a look at the top showcase houses, design festivals and garden shows around the world from now through June
Take a break from your spring cleaning and instead take in some design inspiration from around the globe. In London, the world’s most famous flower show will feature 27 innovative gardens. And in Los Angeles, the city’s top artists and designers will highlight the rebirth of the Art District downtown. Check out these and other great design happenings running through June.
Many of the designers working on the showcase house this year are first-time participants. And if the recently revealed exterior featuring a mural by Simon Breitbard Fine Arts and artist A.J. Oishi is any indication, the injection of fresh designer blood should provide some bold looks. More info

Another featured garden at this year’s show is The South African Wine Estate, designed by Jonathan Snow. The conceptual drawing seen here portrays the garden as a snapshot of a traditional South African wine estate. A charming Cape Dutch house leads down some steps into a formal garden and then through a gate to a vineyard. Plants are shown growing in their natural environment, with occasional splashes of bright colors and exotic-looking flowers. More info
