2. Tell Us How Houzz Helped You With Your Design Project
Did you use Houzz to remodel, decorate or landscape? Did you fall in love with a photo on Houzz and create an ideabook to share with your interior designer, general contractor or architect? Did you buy products on Houzz or use the View in My Room 3D tool or Visual Search to help you find the right item?
Recipe tester and chef Amy Vogler of Kenwood, California, used Houzz during her family’s major kitchen remodel to keep everything on track. “We used Houzz a lot for inspirational things. Definitely in the beginning, I had ideabooks of things I liked,” she says. The Vogler family had lived in their home for more than a decade before embarking on their renovation.

Homeowner Traci Leuritsen, right, hired interior stylist Melissa Rodgers, left, to make her family’s vacation home in Lake Lotawana, Missouri, a vibrant weekend escape with a jewel-tone palette. They shopped for a number of colorful decor items on Houzz, including the pink area rug, cheery yellow armchair and Lucite dining chairs seen here and in the previous photos.

We want to hear about your home’s architectural and decor style and the city or neighborhood in which you live. Tell us how your creative and personality-filled home came to be. How did your home look before the remodeling or redecorating project, and what problems were you trying to solve? With whom do you share your home? Who helped you with your renovation or decorating project, and what was the timeline for it?
Seen here, homeowner Ruth Blatt of Chicago, left, teamed up with interior designer Mika Wegner Avni of Interiors by Mika, right, to refresh her family’s 2008 three-story house. Avni helped Blatt create a space that reflects the family’s personality and the homeowners’ love of art and whimsy while mixing design styles. “What started as a design job turned into friendship for life,” Avni says.
