Houzz Launches Selections for Houzz Pro

The tool gives builders and remodelers a platform to choose and review products and materials with their clients

Houzz has announced Selections within Houzz Pro, the all-in-one business management and marketing software for builders, remodelers and design professionals. The Selections tool provides a collaborative, highly visual platform for residential contractors and their clients to review and agree on materials and finishes for their project. Selections is available to all builders and remodelers who have a Pro or Ultimate subscription to Houzz Pro in the U.S. (and soon in other markets) and is fully integrated into Houzz Pro — making it easy to move from the planning phase into construction.

Like all Houzz Pro tools, Selections was designed to help members of the Houzz community run efficient, profitable businesses and deliver standout client experiences.

“Builders and remodelers help homeowners to make hundreds, if not thousands, of product material and finish decisions for their home,” said Alon Cohen, Houzz co-founder and president. “The Houzz Pro Selections tool simplifies the decision-making process by organizing all of the options in one place online. It also becomes the single source of truth for all of the choices that were made.”

Compile and Present Project Materials and Products

With the Selections tool, residential builders and remodelers can create visually compelling digital product and material presentations for each room, area or product type in a project. These presentations can include all of the recommended product and material options, along with key details like prices and brands.

Integrate Your Houzz Product Library

To help clients see the bigger design picture, pros can also include design elements in their presentations, such as Houzz Pro 3D Floor Plans and Mood Boards. With the Budget Tracker, both the contractor and the client can see how each product or material selection impacts the budget or allowances for the space.

Get Feedback and Approvals and Create Invoices, All in One Place

Using the Houzz Pro Selections tool, clients can review, offer feedback and approve or decline the suggested products and finishes for their project online from any device.

Meanwhile, builders and remodelers can easily reference all communication around each product or room, including internal and client-facing notes, via the project dashboard. A convert feature easily turns the list of approved items into an estimate, invoice or purchase order.

The tool has already garnered praise from Houzz Pro users.

As a client going through the selections process now I love this as a collaboration and communication tool. But I’ve spent a lot of time looking at online pictures of things like hardwood, tile, paint, vanities, hardware etc. that don’t meet expectations when seen in person.
