Totally, but it’s build out like a boxed window... there’s more depth to the counters because of it.

I would love to see an article detailing the process of digging out of the basement floor, what it takes, cost, and before and after photos. My 1941 house definitely does not have the modern 9-foot ceilings in the basement! Instead, it's low-ceilinged and overhead at the base of the stairs is a huge heating duct that is a head-banging danger for anyone over 5'-8" tall!!! I need a lower floor stat! Have any photos from the dig-out for this renovation?
