Beautiful house! I think people are marveling at the size because it is very rare to see someone build a small home today. (At least where I live and travel, all custom-built homes tend to be McMansions.) Plus, the older small homes tend to be charming, but not exactly designed for optimal convenience, especially for a family.

I think this is stunning and well-designed! It does seem like they don't have much of a yard--would have been really cool if they could have had a roof garden, although I know it can be expensive to build those.

The large kitchen island in the center of the home is an all-around solution for a young growing family.

The column is right in the way of making the bed. This does not look practical to me.
