I am putting in my own 8 zone irrigation system and I don't think $1000 would be a median. I would have liked for the report to be a little more specific.

The cost of any project depends on where you live. If you live in MS, AR, or OK costs will be lower because the cost of living is low. If you live in HA, CA, or NY costs will be higher because the cost of living is high. But statistics are mostly averages as proven by the comments noting particular cost estimates. The state of MO, which is also a low cost of living state, has a difference of 13.8 in the index scores between Joplin and Kansas City, MO. So, even if you live in a high cost of living state, your location could be higher or lower than the average for your state.

My yard has been one of the most expensive cost in my remodel. Hardscape is expensive and I have spent well over 50K
