I am decorating my living room. So far I have a dark grey sofa and very light rustic wood floors. Walls are beige (yellowish in the sunlight) and light grey in the adjoining hallway. Where do I go from here color wise. I would like to bring in some bright colors. Any suggestions?

I have beige galore in our lounge (it just evolved) and I was despairing until I saw this article. Thanks for all the ideas.

We just purchased an old home built in 1942 with that vanilla box color theme realtors love of wool skein SW 6148 with white trim. It's a color theme that I hate because it reminds me of apartments. Our furnishings are a bit on the Tuscan brown, gold side of the color spectrum, however they are Moroccan. I just purchased an expensive Persian rug with a gold background and some leaves in teal. I'm hoping I can incorporate some teal tones into the décor to add some color and zing to the place. Would my gold curtains look horrible with this?
