These are nice ideas. However I note that the covered trash shelters, as shown in photos 2, 3 and 5 above, mean that you would have to pull out the bin each time you add something to it, rather than simply lift the lid.

The best part is that the bicycles are underneath the 'bespoke shed' to optimize the space. Perfect also to keep the lawn mower and parasol :)

lots of great ideas! Fortunately, we don't have bears but we do have anHOA that sends letters if you don't do things correctly. Hubby found discounted leftover prefab fence pieces to make enclosures for the bins at a fencing business. Unfortunately, we can't put out bags due to scavenger birds where we live. To decrease the amount of trash, etc, I "made friends" with one of those scrap scavengers and give her things directly, which eliminated the other scavengers (word gets out) and the amount of stuff going to the the curb. We are trying to eliminate the amount of paper coming in with online options. Some paper gets shredded and added to chopped up green kitchen and garden waste in the compost bin to use in the garden. It really isn't that much work and decreases the number of times the bins need hauled out to the street and back.
