Im a person who has always been more active at night and take a while to get going in the morning, so always have had a bit of a problem getting to sleep. I have recently found that reading a chapter or two of my book is more conducive to immediate sleep than is fiddling on my computer or phone. So the experts are correct! For me anyway. Comfy pillow and yes, a cool room is important.

Yes, like Webby I love a cold room too, burrowing under blankets or doona is a lovely secure feeling and helps promote relaxation. A ceiling fan stirring the air overhead, especially in summer feels very pampered also adds to being able to relax. I cannot sleep in a dark room though, I grew up with a street light always shining in my bedroom window so I guess I just don't know any other way and a dark room feels very oppressive so I can't relax.
