We have always had dogs and know full well how much work they are. You were lucky to have neighbours that resolved the problem their german shepherd was causing, but unfortunately there are many dog owners that are not civil nor responsible, and simply won't do what is necessary to keep their dog(s) under control and/or solve the nuisance barking, which can be nerve-breaking. Too many dog owners should not have a dog at all.

Please, please, anyone that owns a barking dog and has trouble controling that nuisance: you can (should!) use one of the newest no-bark e-collars, these are excellent, fool-proof and they do NOT harm the dog. They use advanced bark identification technology and are able to distinguish the specific dog's barking and other vocalizations. They deliver consistent and instantaneous correction that do NOT harm the dog, while virtually eliminating any false corrections caused by any other noises. Easy to use, will cost you around $70 and the barking problem is solved within a couple of days! Please, please think about your neighbours!

The no bark collars can help, sort of. I think our one neighbor is using one on their dog. Now he doesn't bark while he is aggressively attacking the fence. This is a slight improvement over having him bark all day and night.
