Any book in my library (the downstairs area with all the novels) has been read at least once, and many, many re-read. I don't keep books I didn't like. Throwing old pictures of people away breaks my heart. Post on a genealogical site under the family name and you can certainly find someone who wants them. Same with yearbooks. I wonder, in 100 years will all the digital records be accessible or will hardcopies be the only way to see family history.

That's a great point cljakl. I keep telling the spouse: PRINT THE PICTURES! When I'm old I'm not going to roll up to a computer and try to find photos. I want a photo album on my lap in my bed.

I had quite a large number of textbooks on physical therapy that were current but as I was retiring, I no longer needed them. I contacted the Head of a Therapy School in Nairobi, Kenya and offered to send them for use by the students. It cost me around $80.00 in mailing fees but the value to the students made it worth it to me.
