My husband and I love redecorating and remodeling. We have made a goal to remodel one room or area of our home per year, and this year we have decided to focus on the back yard. We want to use some kind of paving stone for the area around the pool, but we aren't sure what kind yet. I like how you point out that travertine pavers absorb water quickly so the surface is virtually nonslip. This would be perfect for around the pool! We'll have to look for a company that can come and install this for us so that it looks perfect. http://pavingstoneofsandiego.com/installation/

Perfect article, thanks for posting!

I think the best thing to consider is how easy they are to clean and keep looking their best long term. I've found something worth considering is sealing your paving.
