Aphaea, I know what you mean! We have had cats, too (our last, very elderly kitty just died last fall), and they do tend to wake us up when they get hungry....Believe it or not, the clock is really more so that hubs can see the time when he wakes up...crazy, right? I use my iPad for all that....and if we really need to get up early hubs uses his smart phone in addition to the clock. I know the search was frustrating, as I went through it yesterday; I did find a small, travel clock that promised to stay dark unless touched, so we’ll see.....As for the windows: we do have wood blinds, and I hope the addition of black-out drapes will be enough....I really don’t want to foil my windows, esp. since we have beautiful mtn views.

I only put foil on the windows when it's hot. Still, it will probably start around June and end in late October or November. Still, I wouldn't mind black-out drapes myself.

As for your hubby checking the time, does he wear a watch? Can he just leave it on the nightstand? Or maybe use a non-digital clock and turn the light on to look at it?

As recent Marie Kondo alumns, we believe the less clutter in the room, the better. The only clutter in the bedroom should be your warm covers!
