Lindaksidney, that you for your suggestion, after much thought we are having a splayed maple live edge table made for us that will sit at 60” for everyday use and has the ability to extend on each end by 18”-20” depending on the size of the slab of wood. The table will be 36-42” wide , once again depending on the wood piece . This way there are no extension seams in the middle of the 60” table they will be on the ends, this gives us the option of using only 1 extension if needed.
The extension pieces will follow the grain of the table as it’s from the same slab. We are using a 3” U shaped leg on each end of the 60”.
The colour of the leg is not determined yet.

We currently have a small antique table that is 42” square that has 3 leaves and the seam in the middle of the table is always there, it’s going to be very nice not having the seam
In the middle that cuts the table up.

If we do black legs do the bar stools and the dining chairs need to be black also?

I would keep the legs and all other legs the same color for uniformity and will look cleaner!

Thank you, yes I think we will kept hem all the same since they are very close to each other. We will be able to determine this once we get the table and the floors are done.
