This is beautiful. Prior to this, I know someone who did their kitchen counters in recycled broken glass. Turned out amazing ! How long did it take her to collect and where did she get all of this broken china ?

Ted Bear-Cautrelli All the plates above the range are from the client's grandmother. The rest is from my inventory. Over the years I've saved leftover tile from other projects and friends and clients save their broken pieces for me, so I have quite a stash to work with.

Yes, I remember when that picture was first on Houzz. There was a lot of controversy about how sanitary it would be. You don't eat off of the walls and mosaics can be sealed and washed. People put lots of rugs in their kitchen, and their cats walk all over the countertops. How sanitary is that? You understand what I am thinking of for the backsplash, Tracey. I thought the backsplash and the stained glass would pull together. Hopefully, even incorporate a little of the color onto the painted the floor. Hubby is putting oak veneer plywood over our underlayment so the 50 pound dog won't mar them up. Then I plan on stenciling them.
