Technological Innovation Redefines the Lighting Experience
At a time when technology is shaping our daily lives, the lighting sector is embracing this digital revolution while preserving the elegance of its lines.
Émon has shaken up the codes of outdoor lighting with Hera. More than a lamp, it’s a concentrate of technology. Intended as an outdoor hub, it combines an advanced LED system, high-quality sound and a USB-C charging port, all controllable via a dedicated app or intuitive remote control. Its weather resistance makes it an ideal companion for sophisticated exteriors.

Ecological Commitment and Innovative Materials
Faced with growing environmental challenges and new consumer expectations, ecological commitment and innovative materials have become strategic levers for lighting brands, enabling them to differentiate themselves on the market while meeting current regulatory and societal requirements.
For example, the Almost brand continued its exploration of bio-sourced 3D printing with Originale.gcode BIG, a lamp made entirely from PLA (polylactic acid), a derivative of corn starch.

Pas Dans La Mer is a French brand of eco-responsible lighting fixtures, based in Provence, France, that perfectly illustrates environmental commitment in contemporary design. Its innovative concept lies in the transformation of recycled plastic bottles into handcrafted luminaires with poetic shapes inspired by nature, such as the Nénuphar lampshade and the Tulipe wall lamp. Each piece is unique thanks to the nature of its source material.
Designer James Haywood’s Error 404 series is a critical and engaged work that questions our reliance on traditional concrete. The name of his lamp refers to the well-known error message 404 Not Found, metaphorically suggesting that our current concrete-heavy approach to construction — one of the biggest contributors to global CO2 emissions — is an environmental dead end.
Customization and Modularity
Tailor-made lighting is another of the year’s striking trends. It responds to a growing demand for exclusivity and personalization in interior design.
Schneid Studio revolutionizes the concept of customization with Junit, a sophisticated modular lighting system. Comprising eight ash elements handcrafted and painted in Germany, it allows total customization: from the configuration of the modules to the colors, including the choice of textile cables from eight color options. The milky glass bulb harmoniously completes the ensemble, diffusing a warm ambient light that enhances each unique configuration.

Italian family firm Ferroluce, founded in 1982, offers this precious Lariat suspension, where each customizable enameled element links together like a vertical necklace. This company, which started out creating wrought-iron lighting fixtures, has evolved into colorful, fully customizable creations, whether for private homes or large-scale hotel projects.
Pearl Necklaces lamps from Semeur d’étoiles, or Sower of Stars, are fully customizable in length, and this modular design gives them great flexibility. Modularity is an integral part of the Sower of Stars philosophy, allowing each installation to be truly custom. Each lamp adapts perfectly to its environment, while retaining the collection’s signature elegance with its blown glass beads and delicate brass joints.

In this year’s show, where a “new surrealism” was the main theme, the lighting sector brilliantly echoed this theme. Designers masterfully conveyed the dreamlike, whimsical spirit of the Surrealist movement, transforming their luminaires into veritable artistic manifestos where the boundary between dream and reality becomes blurred, as with these floating ducks by Barcelona’s Goodnight Lights.
