This is a mailbox and street address sign that we've just installed. The clients share their driveway with a neighbor which was confusing to visitors so I came up with this design. It's made of CorTen steel which hasn't yet achieved it's rust colored patina.

I am surprised that so many types of mail boxes are being allowed. I guess there is a difference from Post Office to Post Office.

My disabled son tried to get the carrier to put mail in a slot in his door. Nope. Then he asked if he could at least put a box on the side of his house and get his mail put there. Nope again. It has to be next to the road, in official approved box, where there is a very narrow shoulder and a deep ditch (controlled by the county (not residents), you have to stand in the road to get the mail, and avoid flooding ditch when it is raining.

I also received a notice from the PO that my box was out of compliance and they would not deliver mail until it was fixed. When I called to see why, I was told there was a truck parked in front of it! The 2 or 3 hours a month when that happens! (my lawn maintenance guys!)
