The client, a celebrity stylist, was keen on carving out a personal wing in her family’s 3-BHK apartment. For this task, she sought the help of Shivani Ajmera and Disha Bhavsar, co-founders and chief design architects of Quirk Studio. “The brief was simple. Anisha wanted a thoughtfully designed space that exuded warmth and homeliness; one that would transport her to another world. As a creative professional, she wanted the space to fuel her imagination,” recalls Ajmera.

“The home is perfectly symmetrical, with the foyer forming the heart of the layout. The living room, dining room, parents’ bedroom and brother’s bedroom are on the left, and the kitchen and Anisha’s wing on the right,” notes Bhavsar.

The living room features a neutral shell, channelling a candy-inspired vibe, thanks to its selection of sorbet-hued accents. A colour-blocked pink-and-black rug offers the room pastel infusions, appearing restrained enough to let the navy sofa take centre stage. A brown leather chair quietly occupies one corner while a brass globe floor lamp in the opposite corner adds a dose of sparkle to the subdued space.

“Anisha’s wing is composed of a bedroom and a den, which we designed as two independent yet visually connected spaces. The two spaces are linked through a corridor,” says Ajmera.
The den is characterised by floral wallpaper, full-length windows and muted accents. A cushioned ledge seat offers a welcome perch with a view outdoors.
“The tiling and most of the structural elements were provided by the builder, so we could exclusively focus our energies into elevating the design scheme,” says Bhavsar.

“We crafted the feature wall as a backdrop for the grey suede sofa and ottoman. We chose the ‘Floreale’ print by Designers Guild for its dreamy, painterly effect. It features white peonies and leaves against a subtle fresco background,” says Ajmera.

The den also houses a customised beau-blue bar unit, with a fold-out table and shuttered cupboards.
The corner next to the bar is transformed by a cluster of planters housing lush greens. A tall freestanding frame of inspirational messages adds whimsy to the pared-back setup.

“Across the corridor is Anisha’s bedroom, a beau-blue retreat steeped in tranquil tones. We carried the pale-blue theme forward from the den, toning down the aesthetic slightly for the slumber zone,” says Bhavsar.
The minimalist bed, defined by a beige tufted headboard, urges the eyes to the art gallery display above it. A brass pendant lamp illuminates the bedside table, bathing it in a halo of soft, warm light.
