I am thinking of re-painting our vivid apple green living room to a pure bright optical white. I don't like 'boring' looking rooms and my husband has always agreed to let me go hog wild with color in our house, we have a lot of color. But the one thing he won't agree with me doing is painting all of our woodwork in the house white. For that reason I'm not sure about painting our living room white because the window frames will still be dark brown wood...… I love the impact white on white has, as in white window frames, white trim & white walls. I feel this 'white on white' has much more impact, a much more glowy effect, and sort of ethereal look which still has some punch . Being stuck with brown woodwork I'm afraid I wouldn't be happy with the effect of a white painted room once its painted. It's a hard decision, I may just wind up sticking with our bright apple green with dark wood trim that we already have. Decisions, decisions!

My artist husband has been saying this for years. Paint the walls white and let what's in the room provide color. Im finally beginning to a

agree with him.

Artsyphartsy_home_maker... I think your husband has a great idea. Dark wood trim is a beautiful, classic look that is lovely with white walls. Also, once you paint wood, it is difficult or impossible to reverse. I wish we had unpainted wood trim.
