Like many others I don't get everything I need to cook out all at once. I like moving about in my special space. I don't find a one wall kitchen appealing. For me some how the warmth of a kitchen seems to get lost. And in my opinion it becomes functional instead of a comfortable place to work. I'd much rather have a galley, L or U shaped kitchen. An island is great in a large kitchen but I would only use it for storage and a place to eat breakfast.

I live in a small house and have a single wall kitchen and I love it! I can easily zip back and forth between the stove, sink and fridge and I don't have to worry about having one door closed so another door can open like so often found in galley and U shaped kitchens. Also, I never could see the point in having to walk across a room to get to a refrigerator or oven. Even if I found myself living in a larger home someday I would still opt for a single wall kitchen. It just makes sense to me.
