No way a pergola will suffice in Florida. Heavy rains and heavy sun constantly. If you want a shaded space, why not completely cover it instead of putting popsicle sticks over your head?

Very nice, but agree about the sun and heat and rain. Also, depending on where you live, mosquitos are quite the pest and a screened in room is a necessity.
