How to upload your photos to your professional profile for the best results
One of the most important parts of any professional’s profile is the photos that are uploaded — number and quality. Photos are the number-one way homeowners find and connect with professionals on Houzz.
Before we go over the specifics of how to upload your images, there are two key things to keep in mind:

- Bigger is better. Uploading photos with a width of at least 1,000 pixels ensures that they will display best on the site and in the iPad app.
- Work with a professional. People hire you because you’re an expert at what you do; the same is true for professional photographers. The Houzz Photographer Network is a great place to start. houzz.com/getPhotos
- Copyright is important. Upload only images for which you own the copyright or are otherwise licensed to use.
Ready to get started? Log into your professional profile, then follow the steps below.
1. To get started uploading your photos, look for the “Upload Photos or Files” link in the middle right of the Houzz homepage. You can also click on “Your Houzz” and find this link in the upper right hand corner.
2. On the upload page, start by selecting an existing project, or create a new one. Your photos you upload here will be organized under the project you select.
3. Select a Category from the four available:
Once you have selected your photo Category, choose the most relevant style from the drop-down.
- Spaces are photos of any complete, residential space that you have worked on.
- Products include any home design goods that you sell.
- Drawings can be floor plans or renderings of any projects that you may have worked on or plan to work on.
- Before Photos include any photos taken of a space before or during your work takes place.
Once you have selected your photo Category, choose the most relevant style from the drop-down.
4. Choose the metro area where the photos were taken. If the exact metro area is not listed, choose the metro that is closest.

5. Next, click "Select photo files" to browse your computer for the images you want to upload. You can select multiple images at this step.

6. Your photos will appear in a list as you select them. When you have selected all of the photos you wish to add, click the green Upload button to begin your upload.
7. On the next page, you can fill out more information about your photos. The more thorough you are at this step, the more likely you photos are to be found by Houzz users.
Once done, Houzz users will be able to add them to their own ideabooks for future reference on their projects, and can ask you questions related to the work shown.
