Everyone should read "Sailor on Horseback" by Irving Stone. My aunt went to school with Irving and housed him while he wrote the book. She had many interesting stories about the time he spent interviewing Charmain and I grew up feeling privileged to have a personal insight into Jack and his life.

It is my new favorite state park to visit. After my son read Rick Riordan's Lost Hero, he wanted to see the Wolf House. Being an architect myself, I was so excited to visit the site with him. The visit to the Wolf House almost brought me to tears. I could really feel what Jack London was feeling. It would have been an amazing house for him, his wife and all the visitors that he was planning to have. I've been there twice now, but I can't wait to go back again.

I really like the asymmetrically arranged stones used on the walls of the structures. An appropriate marriage between strength and beauty.
